Lyndo Jaco’s “3” turns three songs into one driven story

Rock music has always been about telling stories, and Lyndo Jaco’s new EP, “3,” embraces that with music that seems like it has a narrative to share, and a rock background that lets those stories breathe.

Three tracks, 12 minutes, 49 seconds. "3" is a tight set of music, but the pleasure is in how it stitches together disparate experiences in a short amount of time. Lyndo Jaco keeps it focused, avoiding a long, boring collection and letting the EP take a three-song journey without filler. The narrative at the heart of the project takes place in the rock foundation. “3” feels meant to be heard as a whole, with every song playing a part in the EP's overall character while still keeping its own individuality.

From the three tracks, after hearing “Feeling”, “It was for” and “What's happening” each adds depth to the experience and underscores what makes the EP interesting, its blend of storytelling and rock. The beauty of “3” is that it’s so simple. Three tunes. Thirteen minutes shy. But in that short a duration, Lyndo Jaco creates a project about storytelling, not just filling space with sounds.

“3” is succinct, but its narrative-driven approach helps the listener connect. Lyndo Jaco's new EP is a brief, tightly knit listen that anyone who likes music that puts storytelling against a rock backdrop will revisit often.
