Ryan O'Neal, an American singer-songwriter and the creative force behind Sleeping At Last, is back with a new single called "Have." The song is a sneak peek into his upcoming project, Atlas: III, the third part of his ambitious long-form Atlas series, which began with Atlas: I in 2014 and continued with Atlas: II in 2019. It comes after the recent EP Atlas: Revere.
"Have" was recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studios in London and O'Neal's own studio in Illinois. It combines a wide range of striking elements with very personal touches. Sharon Mulfinger Gerber and Anya-Katarina Gerber's strings run through the song, and Lily and Iris O'Neal's soft background vocals add a family feel that makes the song feel both big and close. O'Neal was in charge of the entire production, which showcases his unique ability to balance complex arrangements with emotional clarity.
"Have" is a thoughtful and moving piece that connects the striking depth of the Atlas series with the immediacy of personal reflection. Its layered instrumentation and soaring yet delicate melodies make it sound like you're stepping into a vivid soundscape, where every note has meaning, and every pause has weight.
As the Atlas series continues, this new release shows that Sleeping At Last can change and grow while remaining clearly himself. With the next single, coming out later this month, fans have another reason to get lost in the story of Atlas: III. "Have" not only marks a new chapter in a long-running project, but it also confirms O'Neal's status as one of the most emotionally powerful voices in modern music.
