Claire Rosinkranz turns pain into art with poignant new single “Chronic”

The release of "Chronic," the sixth and final prelude to Claire Rosinkranz's highly anticipated second album, "My Lover," shows that she is still carving out her own space in modern pop. After the success of her first album, Just Because, this song offers a more personal, soft look at Claire's art. It shows a rawness that is both individual and relatable.

"Chronic," produced by her father, Ragnar Rosinkranz, and Oliver Frid, combines Claire's signature melodic style with production that adds depth to the song's emotional weight. The song explores what it's like to live with a chronic illness, using a subtle, immersive sound palette that is both reflective and engaging to capture the cycles of fatigue and constraint. It's a song that doesn't rely on showiness, instead, it depends on honesty to make a space where listeners can really connect with the feelings behind the music.

Antony Muse directed the music video for the song. It uses understated artistry to bring Claire's internal journey to life on screen. The last single before the album's release, "Chronic," follows "Kiss," "Dancer," "Lucy," "Jayden," and "Crazy Bitch." It ends the album's rollout with a reflective flourish, hinting at a larger story of growth, self-reflection, and resilience in My Lover.

Claire Rosinkranz has always been good at combining catchy pop hooks with moments of genuine openness. "Chronic" is probably the most personal example of this yet. It's a reminder that the most honest truths can lead to the most powerful music. This is because it takes care, openness, and the courage to turn personal struggles into art.
