South African singer-songwriter Will Linley is back with his new single “Up At Night,” the third release from his upcoming debut album, set to drop on September 5, 2025. Following the success of his previous songs, “First Love” and “Cinematic,” this latest track showcases his unique talent for blending heartfelt lyrics with catchy melodies.
“Up At Night” came together during an intense three-day writing session with collaborators Alex Borel, Colin, and Jackson Foote. Will recalls that on the last day, nothing was really coming together until Jackson popped in to grab some drinks to celebrate the end of the camp. That’s when Alex began humming a catchy melody for the chorus, and the creative spark ignited! They rushed back to the studio and wrote down lyrics that felt just right, ultimately discovering what they believe to be their best song yet. The excitement and warmth of that moment really come through in the final track.
The song was crafted through a great teamwork effort, ensuring that every instrument blends beautifully without overshadowing Will’s powerful voice. The result is a personal and relatable song that feels perfect for late-night listening and leaves a lasting impression.
The music video for “Up At Night,” directed by Eliot Lee, who also worked on “First Love,” matches the song’s deep and reflective themes. It beautifully visualizes Will’s honest lyrics, appealing to both his longtime fans and new listeners, who will find themselves enchanted by the story it tells.
