JP Cooper paints golden skies in breezy new single “Summer Of Love”

JP Cooper is back with a fresh and sunny vibe in his new song “Summer Of Love.”  After the introspective feel of his January release “Talking To Strangers,” Cooper brings warmth and memories to this track, capturing the essence of a long, golden afternoon in a musical form.

Co-written with Ms Hudson and Johnny Simpson during a trip to the US, and produced by Blackwood, “Summer Of Love” offers a relaxed yet catchy sound. Cooper describes the songwriting process as idyllic, inspired by a chord progression he found in a hotel room, which sparked images of picnics, sunshine, and the simple pleasures of summer. This initial inspiration blossomed into lyrics with the help of Hudson and Simpson.

The song features a rich mix of instruments that create a delightful atmosphere. The bass lines provide a steady background, while the keyboards add a touch of brightness. Gentle guitar melodies and light drumming contribute to a sound that feels both personal and wide open, almost like a cherished memory painted across a vast landscape.

What stands out in “Summer Of Love” is how natural it feels, even though it’s something new. Cooper’s unique voice is warm and heartfelt, drawing listeners in effortlessly. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of summertime without being overly complex, showcasing the clarity and flow that shaped this wonderful song.
