Mortal Prophets releases new EP "Meine Liebe"

Mortal Prophets made a captivating comeback with their new EP, "Meine Liebe." This 18-minute EP isn’t a single but rather a sonic time capsule, featuring six beautifully crafted tracks that evoke a sound blend of German opera, European electronica, and the fierce appeal of new wave.

The tale of Meine Liebe's creation is as mysterious as its music. In 2018, Beckmann was influenced by discovering a worn acetate record in a Munich record store, its grooves resonating with haunting tunes and fragmented voices. The name noted on the record Meine Liebe transformed into both an inspiration and a goal for Beckmann, who aimed to craft a poignant tribute to its mysterious origins.

The features of "Meine Liebe" are as emotionally rich as its narrative. "Weimar Tango" pulses ominously, evoking visions of cabaret venues and dimly lit streets. Filled with Beckmann's distinct narrative style and alluringly sinister rhythms, it conjures a bygone era. In contrast, "Cologne 77" pulses with modern energy, featuring sharp electronic beats and layered synthesizers that evoke the underground nightclubs of late-70s Germany.

"Meine Liebe" ist eine akustische Reise, die Raum und Zeit herausfordert. Mortal Prophets once more demonstrate their talent for bringing back echoes long lost into a vividly modern context
