It’s coming out through Hygh Tension Records/Virgin Music Group, and it’s got an emotional weight that’s much beyond music. Strand uses the song to address the normalization of gun violence, especially gun violence against children. What's most powerful about "Annunciation" is the mixture of sorrow and commitment. It is certainly a tough subject, yet the song is not portrayed as a pure expression of grief. There is a clear yearning for serious action, a desire to move beyond pity and toward activities that can bring about change.
