Anton Donovan reimagines a metal classic through a completely new universe with “No More Tears”

“No More Tears” is a risky creative task that Anton Donovan has taken upon himself. A bold reimagining of the iconic Ozzy Osbourne song, radically transforming the heavy metal base of the original into something surprising and uniquely personal. The cover single, released on 2nd July 2026, shows how Donovan may pay homage to a great song while forging an artistic identity all his own around it.

Produced and co-created with her artistic partner, Emerson Dameron, "No More Tears" was recorded in Los Angeles and Halifax and offers a distinct take on the emotional core of the original track. Instead of repeating the old sound, Donovan treats the song as an opportunity to explore new textures, emotions, and possibilities.

It comes after years of being fascinated by the original composition, from its unique structure to unforgettable musical moments. That long-standing admiration creates the foundation for an interpretation that seems intellectual rather than imitative, allowing the creative chemistry between Donovan and Dameron to shape a version that stands apart from recent releases.

The artist/producer relationship so heavily influences the character of the music. They share an experimental spirit that creates a sound that makes some odd decisions, but also shows respect for the underlying material. The result is a wonderful mix of tribute and re-imagining.
