Horizonte Lied's album "Nuevos Horizontes" turns reflection into reinvention

Horizonte Lied is back with "Nuevos Horizontes," a 25-minute, five-track voyage that adds a little more significance to the notion of a remaster. The EP is a creative rebirth and parting message for a chapter that has long defined the band’s career.

"Nuevos Horizontes" was fully recorded at Alex Ezert's Studios M-13 in Monterrey and is the product of years of artistic polishing. Originally started as impulse tracker demos, it has slowly developed into what it is today, through several digital workstations, to the current Cubase 12 and MPC Live 3. The outcome is not a mere updating of old material but a set of strikingly reworked pieces that breathe with a fresh purpose and clarity.

There are many highlights on the EP, but maybe the most captivating is "Tu Enigma". The emotional heft of the song comes from its discussion of skepticism and the questioning of previous convictions, and the reworked arrangement demonstrates the band’s ability to turn introspection into engaging musical storytelling. Also impressive is “Punto Crucial,” a song that tackles self-deception before reaching a happy and uplifting resolution. This is one of the more satisfying moments of the release, thanks to its honesty and positivity.

The experimental “Romper una Era” is a contemplative goodbye to the internal conflicts and contributes to the overall subject of the EP of emancipation from archaic views. Together, these songs are an expression of the Horizonte Lied philosophy: to realize the illusions of time is to make it surprisingly easy to go on.

"Nuevos Horizontes" is the penultimate part of the band's grandiose Remasters Finales project and is both a retrospective and a daring leap forward. It’s a record marked by growth, introspection, and artistic rebirth, and it leaves the listener wanting to know how the story ends.
