Reetoxa unveils “The Lisa Song”

Melbourne artist Reetoxa has released a powerful new song, “The Lisa Song,” that captures both personal feelings and grand themes. The inspiration for the song came from an unexpected meeting with a girl named Lisa at a Spiderbait concert. This encounter motivated the band’s lead singer, Jason, to pursue his dream of making music.

Produced by Simon Moro, a friend Jason met while studying, “The Lisa Song” represents years of waiting and challenges affected by outside events. During the global pandemic, while Melbourne was under lockdown, Jason didn’t let these setbacks hold him back. Instead of working on an already planned album, he turned inward, reflecting on his life with minimal sleep, cigarettes, and coffee. This approach led to a song that feels both raw and intentional, shaped by months of dedication.

The song has a compelling sense of urgency, with every note and lyric reflecting Jason’s newfound confidence in expressing himself. It tells a story of overcoming hesitation and discovering the courage to push forward, even when life gets tough. By the end of “The Lisa Song,” listeners are left with a lasting impression, highlighting that some of the most powerful art often comes from the chaotic and restless times in our lives.
