Carrousel returns with “Alone In America” a thrilling alt-pop anthem that marks the beginning of the end

Los Angeles alt-pop duo Carrousel, made up of Joel and Sharon Piedt, is back with a powerful new single, "Alone In America," After a two-year break following the release of their 2023 album, "Part 1: Memphis, Endless" the duo is preparing to wrap up their decade-long journey with a new release, expected later this year, called "Part 4: Memphis Again."

"Alone In America" feels like a breath of fresh air after a long silence. The song is deeply emotional and thoughtfully crafted, exploring themes of isolation that resonate widely with listeners. Written by Miriam Pfister and the Piedts, and produced by Joel, it combines bright pop sounds with an underlying sense of unease, showcasing Carrousel's unique ability to blend feelings and music.

This song serves as a key piece in a larger story. The four-part Memphis series is Carrousel's ambitious effort to connect memories and melodies over their ten years of artistic growth. With "Alone In America," the pieces of this puzzle are starting to come together. There's also a music video coming soon, as the duo has just finished filming it, set to premiere on October 10, 2025. If the song is any indication, we can expect the video to reflect Carrousel's signature style of dreamy visuals paired with intense storytelling.

"Alone In America" feels like a significant moment for Carrousel as they approach the end of their biggest project yet. This release reminds us that their storytelling in music continues to carve a meaningful path through today's complex world.
