Ash rockets back with heart and grit “Which One Do You Want?” and “Fun People”

Northern Irish rock band Ash is back with a bang, showcasing their signature energetic sound in a new double A-side single, "Which One Do You Want?" and "Fun People." This release gives fans a glimpse of what to expect from their upcoming ninth studio album, "Ad Astra."

"Which One Do You Want?" carries a heartfelt message and has a fascinating history. Drummer Rick McMurray noted that this track is the oldest on the album, dating back to their New York days. Despite its long wait, it's clear why the song has stuck around. With soaring vocals from Tim Wheeler and catchy guitars, it delivers a sense of longing and hope.

On the flip side, "Fun People" brings something fresh to the table with the help of Graham Coxon, the guitarist from Blur. While the song retains Ash's familiar sound, driving guitars, energetic drums, and memorable melodies, the addition of Coxon's playful guitar work gives it a whimsical twist. It premiered on BBC Radio 6 Music with Steve Lamacq, showcasing Ash's willingness to experiment and keep their long-time fans engaged while introducing an exciting new vibe.

Together, these two tracks highlight a band that is mastering its craft. Tim Wheeler's songwriting shines, combining memories with a modern flair. Ash's return feels both exciting and familiar, making listeners glad to see them back. With Ad Astra on the way, "Which One Do You Want?" and "Fun People" hint that Ash's comeback is one of the most anticipated in 2025.
